Cattle Egret in Easton
A Cattle Egret was found feeding on the lawn of the McCain Foods wastewater treatment plant on 9 November. Cattle Egrets are quite rare in Maine and very unexpected in northernmost Maine in November! There are only a handful of records for the county.
Environmental Manager Jeff Saucier got this great documentation of the rare bird.

Wow, I would have loved to see that! I used to live in Presque Isle. My husband and I were non-traditional students who graduated from UMPI in 1999. Whenever I come to The County I count birds and submit those counts to eBird. I am currently living in Andover MA but recently moved here from Tucson, AZ! One of my favorite birding places in your neck of the woods is Arnold Brook Lake! I often see Kingfishers and loons there. I found your blog from Larry's Brownstone Birding blog.
